What quarry is extracted from?

The Monte Coto quarry is nourished by deposits of the Paleogene, with a formation that goes back more than thirty-two million years. In it the marble variety ‘Crema Marfil’ is extracted, one of the most known and commercialized. So much so that it represents more than 80% of the production of marbles throughout the province of Alicante.

The Crema Marfil Coto has a physical and aesthetic peculiarities that make it a marble of exceptional beauty and elegance. Soft as cream and beautiful as ivory, this could be a definition that explains why it is one of the most appreciated and sought after marble in the world.

What uses does it have?

What finishes exist?

Polished Crema Marfil

This is the most demanded finish. It enhances the cream color of the marble and gives its surface much more shine and elegance.

Crude Crema Marfil

If the brightness is not what matters, the rough finish is an excellent alternative. It is widely used in exterior floors and coatings, although its use can be as wide as desired.

Bushed Crema Marfil

Ivory marble bush marble is characterized by an uneven surface. It is usually used for exterior coatings, since this finish achieves a greater adhesion and slips are avoided. In addition, it is much more resistant to weather agents.

Sandblasted Crema Marfil

In this ivory cream finish the roughness is less pronounced than in the bushhammer. In addition, the craters of the stone also have less depth.

Sticking Crema Marfil

In this case the ivory cream follows the same processing process as polishing, although the final polishing step is not applied. Thus, a smooth surface is obtained but somewhat less luminous than the polished version. However, with this finish we can highlight the colors and texture of this natural stone.

Aged Crema Marfil

By means of an abrasion treatment the material is worn away until this finish is obtained. Thanks to this process, the marble presents a more rough, without any shine, but is ideal as an exterior material.
